About QOVES

QOVES is a technology company pioneering facial aesthetics, helping consumers make smarter beauty decisions. Every day, people make important decisions about their appearance based on guesswork or generic advice. We help them decide with clarity instead. Our platform gives customers a clear, science-backed understanding of their face, paired with bespoke advice on how they can look better. Our work reaches millions: more than 3 million people follow QOVES across platforms and most importantly, our customers are delighted, with 4.8 stars across 600+ reviews; we believe this reflects the care and sensitivity with which we approach everyone who comes to us for guidance. We're a profitable, growing company headquartered in London, with a team across the globe. What guides us is simple: people deserve more than one-size-fits-all advice when it comes to their appearance. Every decision we make (from the science behind our models to the way we communicate results) is grounded in evidence, responsibility, and a broad, inclusive understanding of beauty.

About the Role

You will own customer-facing bugs on our data-heavy analysis platform, from first report to root cause. The non-negotiable is strong production debugging in Python: given an order ID and a short description, you trace the failure across several services and background jobs until you find exactly where it broke, then fix the code or the data, ship the fix, and confirm it worked.

You will work every day with our delivery and QA team in the Philippines, who find problems in customer orders. Most issues are stalled or badly retrying jobs, data that disagrees between two services, account and subscription bugs, failing emails, downloads and generated documents, and bugs in our internal admin tool. When the same failure keeps returning, you fix its cause once so it stops coming back. This is not first-line customer support, model research, or a pure feature development role.

This role is not first-line customer support, because you do not answer customers. It is not model research or data science. It is not a pure feature developer job either.

What we're looking for

  • 4 to 7 years of professional Python
  • Django and Django REST Framework
  • FastAPI and async Python
  • PostgreSQL, including reading query plans and fixing data safely
  • Background jobs and queues (Celery and Redis, or similar). Temporal or another workflow engine is a strong plus.
  • Git, code review and pull requests
  • Strong written English. Most of the job is writing.

Nice to have:

• Stripe billing

• AWS, particularly S3 and SQS

• Docker and basic Kubernetes

• Sentry and log-based debugging

Some exposure to image or ML pipelines (you will not train mod

How to Apply

Send your CV with the subject line “Application for Support Engineer (Python)”. In the body of your email, include 5 to 8 sentences describing the hardest production bug you have fixed and how you found the root cause.
